SARAH ROSE DAVISON & JACK QUINLAN INVITE YOU TO JOIN THEM IN THE CELEBRATION OF THEIR MARRIAGE.
1ST AUGUST 2022
THE FIRST DATE
ROSIE: “It started with the best joke of all time. He was 5 minutes late, I said ‘you can stay behind 5 minutes at the end’ He really laughed. The rest is history.”
JACK: “After feigning laughter, the date really picked up. We walked down Alnmouth beach and finished with coffee and cake. She even gave me half her scone so I locked in a second date”
THE PROPOSAL
ROSIE: “I came home from work just before Christmas 2019 to find Jack had written a poem with a series of clues. The final clue was my passport and a map of Brussels. I literally had no idea he was going to propose”
JACK: “Smashed it. Been living off this one for the past 3 years.”
THE WEDDING
ROSIE: “We’ve chosen to get married here in Dumfries because it holds a really special place in my family’s heart. My grandparents have holidayed at Mossyard for decades. My parents met here when they were 14. I have so many precious childhood memories here and I can’t wait to make many more as a Quinlan.
JACK: “Rosie introduced me to Mossyard 5 years ago. During this time we’ve watched GG’s Yard develop from the ground up, I think we both knew this would be where we’d eventually get married. We hope you enjoy the area as much as we all do.”

THE CHURCH
We have chosen to get married in a church called Our Lady & St Ninian’s in Newton Stewart. The church is just up the road from GG’s Yard, about a 15-20 minute drive. Rosie’s gran attends this congregation which adds a special meaning to the ceremony.
Parking is really limited at the church so we would recommend that you car share where possible or polish up your parallel parking skills beforehand
The address of the church is:
Windsor Road, Newton Stewart, DG8 6HP
It looks like this:
Our Lady & St Ninian’s
DIRECTIONS:
From Dumfries, take the A75 towards Stranraer. 4 miles after you have passed Gatehouse of Fleet, you will pass a small fishing loch on your left-hand side. Take the next right turn 500 yards after the loch, you’ll see the sign on the right next to the stone wall. Follow the road for 300 metres and as it bends to the left, turn right just before the cottage on the corner. Follow the signs to the car park and to reception.

THINGS TO DO…
DISCOVER DUMFRIES & GALLOWAY
OUR TOP PICKS
We always find Dumfries and Galloway to be the perfect weekend away to get in a real mix of all the things we love doing.
Hopefully you’ll find the same and be able to enjoy some proper switch-off time! Here’s a list of some of our favourites:
- Kirroughtree is the perfect place to explore the area and see some nature. What was once a a busy centre for lead mining has transformed into a beautiful forest for visitors to explore on foot or bike! We love hiring electric mountain bikes and exploring the whole forest or getting in a bit of trail running
- Cream O’ Galloway Activity Centre is the home of the Ice cream brand Cream O’Galloway. Great for families and big kids, I mean it’s ice cream what’s not to love? It also hosts tours of the working dairy farm & has a mini-golf course.
- Senwick Alpaca Trekking is a unique experience in the area. Now is your chance to get to know friendly and playful alpacas whilst taking in the countryside of Dumfries and Galloway. (We’ve never actually done this one so good luck!)
- Cally Gardens features towering 18th century walls which were once the kitchen and pleasure garden for Cally Palace. The gardens now provide shelter to thousands of rare and exotic plants. Cally Woods are also great for a beautiful walk amongst the trees.
- Nicknamed the Artist’s Town, Kirkcudbright is home to many famous artists. Many examples of their work can be found in the town in the Tolbooth Art Centre, Hornel Art Gallery at Broughton House and The Stewartry Museum, as well as in the fantastic Kirkcudbright Galleries, which opened in 2018. (Although we mainly just go to rent a local tennis court and have a knock around!)
- There are many local walks in the area. From Big Water of Fleet to Rutherford’s Monument. The Snugs’ location is also a gateway to the Galloway Hills offering an abundance of beautiful walks. One of our personal favourite walks is Carstramon Wood.
- Cardoness Castle is a 15th-century tower house just southwest of Gatehouse of Fleet.
- Like books?! Officially designated as Scotland’s National Book Town in 1998, Wigtown features an impressive range of independent bookshops and is also home to the annual Wigtown Book Festival. Wild
- The Gem Rock Museum in Creetown is, by its own admission, ‘an experience you will treasure forever.’ We’ll let you decide that one but it does have a lovely cafe and provide a quirky and memorable afternoon out.
- 7Stanes Mountain Biking
The 7stanes are world-class mountain biking centres that span the south of Scotland. Their award-winning trails offer some of the best mountain biking in the country. There are a wide range of routes to suit beginners, families and experts.
- Golf at Cally Palace Scotland is the natural “Home of Golf” and is hugely popular for golf holidays and breaks. South-west Scotland is particularly strong in the variety and selection of golf courses available. The Cally Palace has its own 18 hole parkland golf course, which is one of the finest golf courses in the area.
